The Pencil Story

Please don’t sharpen me! I don’t want to get any shorter! But I just kept getting sharpened. Don’t use me for a test. I don’t think I am that useful! No! I am almost as a marble now. Don’t throw me away ether! I will not do well in a vast garbage pile. Use the new pencil.
Sadly my owner didn’t hear me. Please I can’t miss my sleepover with my friend. Then, he stops writing. He was walking with me somewhere. 10 seconds later I knew where he was taking me. He was taking me to…to…to the garbage can! It was awful.
He stopped right when the teacher told him to. Don’t throw away that pencil. “It is still useful.” the teacher said. “What for?” my owner asked. “You’ll see” she answered. He handed me to her. I did’n know what I was going to be used for. She put me down on her desk.
Then, I fell asleep. I took a long nap. When I woke up I…I was glued to other pencils hanging on a wall. It was very weird. All the other pencils were almost as small as me. I asked the pencil next me and what we were hanging on the wall for and she said we are on the “Look how many pencils we used up so far” wall. “That explains it.” I answered. So my life will live much longer than it would if I was thrown away. But how much longer will I last?

  1. What a cool idea - displaying used pencils to show how much hard work the class has done.

Keep the creative ideas coming, Breezee!
