The Secret Key

Once there was a little girl named Liz. She was as small as an ironing board. So one day she was just walking down the sidewalk like a nice little girl and she found a key on the ground. So when she was about to pick it up to show her parents it was gone! It was gone in a flash. She ran home to get her parents. “One second a key was on the ground and the next it was gone!” she said in her small voice. Her parents asked her if anyone was nearby when it happened. The answer was yes. But when she was back outside no one was in sight. Then she thought she had no chance but to run around looking for that person.

“I remember what he looked like,” she told her parents. “Did you ever think that it was his key?” her mom asked. “No because I saw his keys in his pocket.” Liz answered. No one talked for two to five minutes. Liz told her mom that she was going to look for the man.

After she walked two block she saw the man! She ran the man and told him, “ Does that key belong to you? Because I see your keys in your pocket.” “No they don’t belong to me but they do belong to my wife,” he answered. “Sorry for all of the trouble I caused you,” she said. Then she walked away. “At least I solved that problem,” she said as she walked away.

The End

  4. Liz appears to be a good detective. Have you read any of the old Nancy Drew stories? Liz could be a modern Nancy.
